For Sale - 1983 Land Rover Series 3 for restoration. Ex Army FFR 109 LWB, in service from 13th September 1983 to 11th November 1997. Military ERM plates still attached and VIN plates present.
Its believed to have sat in a field after being cast until last year when I bought it. The Landy had been stripped of many parts over the years, and needed a lot of parts replacing. It turns over easily on the key and it did start and run when I got it. I believe it will start with some fresh fuel and charged batteries. One cylinder has a spark plug broken off in the block.
Chassis is not too bad, but needs at least a rear cross member and some patching here and there, but as with a lot of ex-MOD landys the chassis seems to have been protected from the worst of the rust. Bulkhead mostly good, but again needs a couple of small patches. This is a former radio vehicle. So runs on a 24 volt circuit, with 2 batteries instead of 1. Hand painted in deep bronze green. New side lights and indicators to be wired in.
All dents and scrapes included free of charge! There are quite a few spare parts to come with the Land Rover, too many to cover in full but include a replacement 24v distributor, prop shaft, spare wheel, and any of the military parts Ive taken off. Heritage certificate included which gives all the factory details. This is not a quick 5 minute fixer upper, it will be a big project to get back on the road, but well worth it when complete. Viewing is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. 10% deposit to be paid within 24 hours. The item "Land Rover Series 3 109" is in sale since Friday, August 27, 2021.
