1959 Land Rover Series 2 rebuilt on galvanised chassis, 2.5 petrol + overdrive

For sale through AB4x4s Cleveland is a rare Land rover Series 2 1959 that has been rebuilt on a galvanised chassis. It has been owned by the previous owner for the last 15 years where it has been loved but also used regularly. This vehicle has been built with usability in mind. Some to mention are as follows.

Later 2.5 petrol engine from an early Defender giving more power and reliability. Runs perfectly and starts with ease.

It is mated to a Fairey overdrive giving it longer legs for better motorway cruising whilst achieving respectable MPGs. Later series 3 gearbox with synchro making it far smoother for gear changing. Parabolic springs for a more comfortable ride, a great and costly upgrade!

Later series 3 bulkhead and front wings. Bulklhead is really solid with just a few scabby areas. New brakes where required at our workshop this week. Brake servo for better stopping power.

Recent door tops and really good door bottoms. Swing away rear wheel carrier. In short this Series 2 is ready to enjoy and drive away. It has so much potential being a great pedigree and should last many years with its galvanised chassis. Bodywork is rough and ready as can be seen but very solid.
