1978 landrover series 3 2.25 diesel
We bought this landrover early on in the year as a bit of a toy for the summer, but we have since been offered an early series 2a, which I personally prefer. When we got the landrover it had been sat for a while and needed some attention, first thing was to have the vehicle fully serviced including. New brake shoes all round. New brake cylinders all round.
Fuel pump was stripped cleaned and rebuilt. Fuel tank drained and fresh fuel. Then we sent it to have some welding repairs on the chassis (which have been done to a high standard with the rot cut out and new metal let in), and fully rust treated underneath. We added some sound deadening to the cab and new rubber mats, a new rear rubber mat and some foam seat pads, new front seat bases and a new centre seat.
We had all new window runners fitted so all the windows slide perfectly. We then gave the old girl a good clean up inside and out, the paint work has some lovely patina and we decided to keep it this way so its just had some high quality car ceramic wax added. The landrover drives well, like an old landrover really. Shes slow, noisy and rattly but will get you there eventually; in not much comfort but I think thats part of the fun. In all honesty its does drive pretty well for one of these. There are a couple of jobs I havent got round to yet. The tyres have loads of tread and look nearly new but they are noisey so I was going to replace them with something with a more modern tread pattern. The dash top has some damage, its perfectly usable as it is but not very aesthetically pleasing! Any more questions give us a call and we can have a chat.
