Land Rover series Broomwade compressor PTO Airdrive

For Sale is a very rare Broomwade compressor designed to be underfloor mounted on a Series 2 or 3 Landrover. These were popular with the utility companies in the 60s and 70s, as you know longer had to tow a compressor or lose any of your load area in your vehicle. This compressor was removed from an ex Water Board Series 3 Landrover about 6 years ago. As I was using it on my Lightweight only occasionally, I had a purpose made frame made to hang on the NATO hook so the oil cooler, oil tank, air/oil separator and controller could easily be removed while the compressor air end stayed under the Landrover. It has also been fitted with a modern Broomwade controller and cooling fans.

To make this a reliable and safe unit to use - (I do have the old analogue gauges if required). The compressor is powered by a centre PTO (not included) and is designed to run at 2300 RPM in 4th gear. This will and does provide 100cmf suitable for running 2 pneumatic drills. The compressor was designed mainly to fit on a 109 Landrover but I have also seen photos of them fitted to an 88.

In the 88 the oil tank and. Air/oil separator fit under the front. Happy to give a demonstration to serious buyers as well as advice on fitting. I also have second compressor unit (unknown condition) and pneumatic drill and airline.
